Dating on a Budget - 10 Cheap Dating Ideas

With everything going on with the economy, it is important to be frugal with where and when you spend your money.  Don't let date nights break your budget.  The key really is to plan what you will do.  Without a plan you may find yourself drifting to an expensive restaurant or overspending on an unplanned activity.  Below are some cheap date ideas.  Try these out or leave a comment below with a few of your own ideas.

  1. Go to restaurants that don't have waiters.  Visit restaurants like a neighborhood sandwich shop, deli or pizza pub where you order at the counter and then pick up your food.  These restaurants often have more reasonable prices.
  2. Check out a movie during matinee hours instead of peak or prime time hours.   If you don't mind waiting to see a new release check your local YellowPages for a discount movie theater (ie., $1.50 or $2.00 movie theater)
  3. Go for a walk in the park.  Check your local chamber of commerce for walking trails or area parks
  4. Go to the driving range and hit some golf balls.  You can purchase a small bucket of balls for around $5.00
  5. Visit your local art gallery or visit the museums in your area
  6. Play a round of miniature golf
  7. Hook up with another couple and have a couples game night at your house
  8. Attend a free concert or festival.  Check your local newspaper for upcoming events
  9. Join a book club for couples
  10. Volunteer together.  Sign up for a cause that you are both passionate about or volunteer your time to a festival that otherwise would be too expensive to attend
